bury st edmunds lions club

Welcome to the Lions Clubs of Stowmarket and District and Bury St Edmunds. This website promotes the work we do in supporting local charities, local causes and individuals within our local community.

It also promotes businesses within our local community who support us through advertising on the website. Every penny we receive through advertising revenue goes to support the fund raising activities of the Lions Clubs of Stowmarket & District and Bury St Edmunds.

We have also created an online High Street where every purchase made through this website generates a commission and all that commission goes to St Nicholas Hospice Care.

Last year Stowmarket & District Lions Club and Bury St Edmunds Lions Club raised over £60,000 for local charities serving the local community. For a flavour of some of the fundraising activities we arrange please click here

Master of Ceremonies, John Webb welcoming everyone on behalf of the Lions Club of Stowmarket and District to last years charity boxing dinner in memory of Lion Ernie Pearce.
The annual boxing dinner held a special place in Ernie's heart and he loved organising the event for us all to enjoy.

Our new Lion President Tony Wass - For More

With over 46,000 clubs and 1.4m members worldwide Lions International is the largest Service club organisation raising funds and providing voluntary hands-on community work on a local and global scale.

Explains Branch Secretary Marie Compain, “Our core membership was established by a social network of friends and neighbours and now we are hoping to attract active and enthusiastic members from all over Bury and the surrounding villages to join us in our efforts. Despite the challenging economic conditions, there is still a strong spirit of generosity throughout the region and we would like to thank everyone who has supported us so far.”

With a strong emphasis on fun the Lions already have a wide range of fund-raising activities planned for 2013 which are intended to continue the Lions tradition of community support and providing much needed assistance to worthy local causes.

The Lions welcome members of all ages and from all walks of life. Anyone interested in joining or helping from time to time can contact the Bury Lions Club by completing your details on our webpage

Promote your business on through this website - we have created this website to further our work in Bury St Edmunds and Stowmarket and offer the opportunity for local businesses to promote themselves on the website for a fixed annual cost of just £52 per annum. This helps local businesses promote themselves through this website and ALL the advertising revenue goes to the Lions Clubs to support the local community works and charities that we support.

Similarly we have created an Online High Street where you can purchase pretty much anything.
The best deals are invariably through Online purchasing and it is estimated that UK shoppers will SAVE £18 billion by shopping Online as a result of lower retail prices available on the web.

So not only do you get the best deals Online, but a percentage of all Online purchases made through this website also goes to St Nicholas Hospice.

Here are just a few examples of the charities we support:

SHOP ONLINE - GET THE BEST DEALS AND SUPPORT ST NICHOLAS HOSPICE - Simply Select the High Street Store listed down the right hand side of the front page of this website - John Lewis, Debenhams etc - CLICK on the banner and shop. Every Online purchase earns a commission and ALL that commission goes to St Nicholas Hospice Care. Here are some ideas from John Lewis to get you started........
