A day at Southwold crabbing, fish and chips at Mrs T's and blasting across the North Sea on Coastal Voyager

What a fabulous day - the weather was again kind to us, the sea a little more bumpy than the year before - Marcus skippered the two RIBS for our 11.45 and 13.45 "blasts" across the North Sea.  Chris and George at Mrs T's arranged Fish and Chips for us on the dot at 12.45 which was no mean feat as they had massive queues of people. And Rita and Ivan made took home, kept and returned in pristine condition all the crabbing gear we used last year.

Our day began at Suffolk Family Carers HQ at Claydon from where Kev set off with Keiron and Sheree from Suffolk Family Carers and a group of Young Carers bound for Southwold.  Geoff and Rob also drove from Claydon where we met Lions Andrew and Liz, and Ivan and Rita to have a fabulous day out .

Marcus gives his safety briefing before everyone dons protective wear and waterproofs

Some of the wall art says it all !

Suited and booted and ready for the off !

2 x 200 HP engines certainly give the rib some power !

And we are off into Southwold Bay

Quick Lunch stop at Mrs T's for the best fish and chips in Southwold - now that's 12 fish and chips, 8 sausage and chips, 2 fishcake and chips.........Chris and George at Mrs T's had everything ready for us

So a big thank you to Chris and George for the delicious lunch - 24 pre-ordered Lunches at probably their busiest time of the day!

Second group heads out after lunch at Mrs T's

Hardy lot us Brits - swimming and sunbathing

Mind you Southwold is a wonderful part of our Suffolk coastline

Kev, Rita and Ivan take a breather while the second rib is just a speck on the horizon

Meanwhile the young carers from the first group enjoy the sea

Group two blast back into the harbour

Huge thanks to everyone who contributes to make this day as enjoyable as possible - Marcus and his team at Coastal Voyager, Chris and George at Mrs T's who look after us so well on one of the busiest times and days of the year - to the Lions who seamlessly make the day work and specifically to Kev for literally driving this initiative in the Chernobyl Bus and throughout the day !
